An Excellent Question For You to Answer

This is an excellent question from Michael Bloodbought and thought I would repost the question here and encourage all to go to the HBD site and answer. Below is my answer but please do not copy cat me. Answer for yourselves! Thanks ….. Steve

Hi Folks

I was just sitting around pondering something that has been another perplexing question in my mind, when it dawned on me that asking myself the question, when it actually should be directed to the folks in mind, was never gonna give me the answers that I seek. If you want to know what someone is thinking ask them not yourself. We spend alot of time doin just that very thing; asking ourselves why someone does or doesnt do a particular thing and then giving our own answers rather than asking them, and sometimes the answers are not only cold, but inaccurate.
So I ask the reader, why is the doctrine of Ecclesiology (The Doctrine of The Church) avoided? Is it the subject itself? Is it the one's teaching it? Is it supposed that the answers are already known?
Please dont think I am being sarcastic.Thats not my intent. I remember the 1st time I saw The Doctrines of Grace set to a book. I was so excited and couldnt get enough of it. The same with The Attributes of God. As a matter of fact I dont remember studying a new doctrine that I found boring or too much of a challenge. Also I know that we are to study the Scriptures......ALL of the Scriptures.
So please..........give me your thoughts as to why YOU dont particularly like Ecclesiology, or why you DO.
I dont want to know why OTHERS like or dont like it. Im interested in what comes from the horses mouth.
Thanks

Yours in Christ
Michael

Mike I have found it disturbing that there are very few good “churchmen”. Several errors in preaching have caused much of this. Some of those teaching that come through preaching include: a. The teaching that has been prevalent for many years concerning the Church being some sort of an after thought after Israel did not accept the Messiah has weakened instruction regarding the Church. b. Also the lessening of the importance of the Christian Sabbath is another weakening of focus on the Doctrine of the Church. c. The non sacramental identifying of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper also makes the teaching of what the Church is anemic. d. Independence and non - connectional or non – denominational mindset is also a contributor to the lack of instruction in Eccelesiology.

I believe it is important to understand the Church. And this from the entrance into the Church by the application of Grace to the instruction of how to identifying the church and its worship to witnessing and active body life. I believe it so important that all of my posts are ecclesiastical in one manner or another. While more instruction is needed there is a good overview for practical application and Christian growth and understanding.
